Cotton Plus Collaborates with Dr. Vivek Bindra and Bada Business Private Limited, Improves Cash Flow Efficiency and Builds a Scalable Retail Model
New Delhi [India], June 17: Cotton Plus, a Navi Mumbai-based garment retail business founded by Mr. Bindeshwar Gupta, has collaborated with under the mentorship of to optimize inventory systems, improve cash flow efficiency, and strengthen the company’s operational foundation for future expansion.
Operating through stores in Seawoods and Kharghar, Cotton Plus has steadily established itself as a trusted destination for affordable and comfort-focused apparel for men, women, and children. The brand offers a wide range of cotton shirts, kurtis, casual wear, and practical daily fashion designed around customer convenience, functionality, and accessible pricing.
Over the years, the company witnessed growing customer demand and stable revenue performance. However, as operations expanded, Cotton Plus began facing backend operational challenges that impacted inventory productivity and cash flow management. Before the collaboration, the business operated with a stock-to-sales ratio of 8X, indicating excess inventory holding and inefficient stock utilization.
Large amounts of working capital remained tied up in unsold merchandise, limiting the company’s flexibility to invest in fresh collections, store expansion, and high-performing product categories. In addition, the inventory turnover ratio remained limited to only 2–3 times annually, reflecting slower movement of products and lower inventory efficiency.
Recognizing the need for operational restructuring, Cotton Plus partnered with Bada Business Private Limited through a structured business transformation initiative guided by Dr. Vivek Bindra. The collaboration focused on improving inventory planning systems, streamlining procurement operations, and implementing data-backed decision-making processes.
The transformation process began with a detailed FSN-based inventory analysis across all stores. Products were categorized into fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving segments, helping the management identify which SKUs contributed most to sales and which products were affecting inventory efficiency.
A comprehensive stock audit was also conducted to identify discrepancies between recorded and physical inventory. Standardized inventory tracking systems improved operational visibility and enabled the business to make more accurate purchasing decisions.
One of the major operational changes introduced through the collaboration was the shift from bulk procurement to a demand-driven inventory model. Cotton Plus began aligning purchases with actual customer demand, seasonal buying trends, and real-time sales movement. This significantly reduced excess stock accumulation and improved inventory rotation.
Vendor rationalization further strengthened operational efficiency. Suppliers were evaluated based on product movement, replenishment speed, and sales performance. By reducing dependency on underperforming vendors and strengthening partnerships with high-performing suppliers, the company improved procurement responsiveness and merchandise quality.
Following the implementation of these strategies, Cotton Plus achieved substantial operational improvements. The stock-to-sales ratio reduced from 8X to 2.5X, resulting in healthier inventory levels and significantly improved working capital efficiency. Simultaneously, the inventory turnover ratio improved from 2–3 times annually to 5–6 times annually, enabling faster movement of products and stronger cash flow cycles.
These improvements have also strengthened the company’s long-term growth plans. Cotton Plus is now targeting expansion from three stores to more than ten outlets across Navi Mumbai and surrounding markets. The company is also projecting significant multi-fold revenue growth supported by improved inventory productivity and stronger operational control.
Speaking about the transformation, founder Mr. Bindeshwar Gupta said, “This collaboration completely changed the way we manage operations. Earlier, too much capital was locked in inventory. Today, we operate with better planning, healthier cash flow, and greater confidence in our growth strategy.”
The Cotton Plus case highlights how operational discipline and data-driven inventory systems can create measurable improvements in retail performance. Through its collaboration with Dr. Vivek Bindra and Bada Business Private Limited, the company has strengthened its operational structure while positioning itself for scalable and sustainable business growth.
