In the elections of the Federation of Surat Trade and Textile Association for the year 2026, all candidates in all categories have been elected unopposed. The need for voting was eliminated after one candidate withdrew their nomination in the Gold category on the last day for withdrawal.
According to the election committee, a total of eight candidates had filed nominations in the Gold category. On the last day for withdrawal, Anup Jalan withdrew his nomination. After this, the number of candidates in the Gold category remained equal to the available seven positions.
According to election rules, when the number of candidates is equal to the available positions, there is no need for voting. Based on this, all seven candidates in the Gold category were declared elected unopposed. Thus, the process of unopposed elections in all three categories of FOSTA Elections 2026 has been completed.
In the Platinum category, 21, in the Diamond category, 13, and in the Gold category, 7 candidates have been elected unopposed. Due to this situation, no voting will be conducted in any category of FOSTA Elections 2026. The election committee reported that the entire election process was conducted peacefully, transparently, and democratically.
The committee expressed gratitude to all candidates, member institutions, and the business community for their cooperation and positive participation. It also expressed hope that the newly elected officials would play a significant role in advancing the interests of Surat's trade and textile industry. The directors elected unopposed from the Gold category include Mahendrasinh Ratansinh Bhail, Tarunkumar Bhagwatiprasad Agarwal, Mohansinh Sardarshinh Purohit, Navalkishor Kishanlal Soni, Ashwin Leeladhar Thakkar, Bhupendra Dungarmal Bagrecha, and Mukesh Khemchand Kelvani.
The directors elected unopposed from the Platinum category include Purushottam Satyanarayan Agarwal, Girishkumar Jagdishkumar Mittal, Arvind Bhartkumar Gadia, Neeraj Shreekishan Agarwal, Hansraj Mulchand Jain, Nanalal Shankarlalji Rathod, Suresh Sagarmalji Modi, Ramlal Hukmalal Chaudhary, Om Prakash Hastimal Gandhi, Manoj Manfulsingh Agarwal, Pankajkumar Nandlal Gadia, Ashish Ashok Malhotra, Rajesh Ramnivas Kothari, Jignesh Batukbhai Bhikhedia, Hresh Devidas Lakhani, Arvindkumar Sohanlal Jain, Sunil Kumar Baheti, Gulabrai Tolaram Shevani, Harbanslal Arora, Tilokchand Harchandray Thadani, and Dinesh Popatlal Kataria. The directors elected unopposed from the Diamond category include Arun Kumar Patodia, Kailashkumar Samptaraj Vadera, Shivraj Kaluram Parik, Deepchand Hinduramji Chaudhary, Gulshankumar Lajpatray Nandwani, Dinesh Chunnilal Bhogar, Rajat Maheshwari, Shyamlal Kishanlal Mali, Vivek Murleelal Naranolia, Sunilkumar Maliram Goyal, Akshay Mangilal Oswal, and Hresh Savjibhai Patel.
