Ahmedabad : Gujarat announces "Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries" to boost investment
18 MoUs signed on a single day to boost industrial growth in Gujarat under new scheme
The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, has launched the "Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries" to promote self-reliance in the state. Under this scheme, the government has signed 18 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for business start-ups across the state, which are expected to create 10.8 billion jobs and attract an investment of over 98 crores, including Rs. 5733 crore from foreign investors.
The scheme focuses on industries such as manufacturing, chemicals, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and farm equipment, among others. Asian Paints has committed to investing Rs. 2100 crore in a manufacturing plant in Bharuch district, which is expected to create 350 jobs, while Mankind Lifesciences Pvt. Ltd. plans to invest Rs. 1100 crore, creating 1000 jobs.
The Chief Minister and Industries Minister, Shri Balwant Singh Rajput, expressed their confidence in the scheme, which aims to attract more industrial investments, including foreign investments, to Gujarat. The state contributes 18% to the industrial production of the country and is considered the growth engine of India.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officers, representatives of investors, and the Industries Commissioner, Shri Rahul Gupta, and the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Kailasanathan. The scheme is expected to enhance the vision of self-reliant Gujarat and self-reliant India, paving the way for the collective progress of the Indian community and local products on the global stage.
