The Surat Municipal Corporation has launched the Saral Pass scheme for women, allowing them to travel on city buses for the entire year for only Rs 1000. The scheme will start on 1st April and aims to increase women's access to public transport services in the city. The pass has no limit on the number of times it can be used, making it easier for women to travel around the city.

More than two and a half lakh people use public transport in Surat daily, and the Saral Pass scheme for women aims to provide them with maximum benefits. The pass costs Rs 300 for three months, Rs 500 for six months, and Rs 1,000 for one year.

The Surat Municipal Corporation hopes that the Saral Pass scheme for women will encourage more women to use public transport services, making it easier for them to travel to work, schools, and other places. Women in the city have welcomed the initiative, which will help to promote gender equality and provide a cost-effective and sustainable transportation option for women.
