India is not anyone's slave…’ Putin gives a blunt response to Trump; says INDIA has never accepted foreign orders
Russia, June 6. Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly supported India's independent foreign policy and sovereignty on the international stage.
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 26), Putin stated that India has never paid attention to orders or foreign 'decrees' received from outside its borders. Regarding sovereignty, President Putin emphasized that no questions can be raised about any country's sovereignty and its ability to make independent decisions. He further stated that naturally, India has never followed any orders that came from abroad.
Putin also added that attempts to pressure a reliable partner like India are completely 'futile', as India will not bow to the pressures of Western countries. Putin praised not only India's diplomatic strength but also acknowledged India's contributions on the economic front. He mentioned that India is now a significant partner in the global IT industry and one of the largest players worldwide.
Discussing the economic sanctions imposed by Western countries, Putin claimed that the strategy to isolate Russia has failed. He stated that Russia maintains strong relations with countries around the world and will continue to work on cross-border projects, roads, and railways. Putin also remarked that Americans are quite practical; they continue to cooperate but only where it benefits them.
This statement from Putin is seen as a direct response to U.S. President Donald Trump's pressure on India to reduce trade relations with Moscow. Speaking on the economic platform of BRICS versus G7, Putin also claimed that BRICS countries have now surpassed G7 countries on the economic front. He expressed confidence that Russia will remain attractive to foreign investors and that Moscow will continue to work with its partners and neighbors.
