Surat: Impact of Prime Minister Modi's Appeal, Industrialists from Sachin Arrive at the Event via E-Bus
n June 5, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Surat for World Environment Day, a unique example of promoting environmental protection and green mobility was witnessed. Officials, directors, and industrialists from Sachin Industrial Cooperative Society supported the Prime Minister's appeal by traveling to the event venue in a special electric battery-operated bus.
Keeping in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India, developed Gujarat, and green transportation, industrialists from Sachin GIDC arrived together at the event held at Surat's indoor stadium via the e-bus. The aim of this initiative was to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel and to promote environmentally friendly transportation. Present at the occasion were Kishorbhai Patel, President of Sachin Industrial Cooperative Society, Secretary Mayur J.
Golwala, Chairman of Sachin GIDC Notified Area Nilesh Gami, former Chairman Mitul Mehta, along with several industrialists including Gaurang Chhapta, Bhikhu Nakrani, Praveen Ramani, Jaysukh Asodariya, and Mukesh Chaturvedi. Representatives from the industrial sector stated that environmental protection should not be limited to government schemes but should yield positive results through active participation from society and industries. The use of electric vehicles is a significant step towards reducing pollution and conserving energy.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized strengthening India's role globally against climate change. At the COP26 Climate Summit held in 2021, he expressed India's commitment to achieving the target of 'net-zero emissions' by 2070. Under this perspective, public participation-based environmental protection campaigns are also being continuously encouraged.
