Surat: Grand Bicycle Rally Held on World Environment Day, Promoting Environmental Protection and Fuel Conservation
On the occasion of World Environment Day, a grand bicycle rally was organized in the city during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Surat, aimed at raising public awareness about environmental protection and fuel conservation. A large number of citizens, public representatives, and industry representatives participated enthusiastically.
The rally started from Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Piplod and concluded at the indoor stadium in Athwalines. The rally was led by Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Present at the event were MLA Sandeep Desai, various public representatives, leading figures from the industry, and over 1,000 citizens.
The organizers stated that the main objective of this rally, held on World Environment Day, was to promote environmental protection, energy conservation, and alternative modes of transportation. Participants conveyed the message of reducing pollution, saving fuel, and adopting a healthy lifestyle by cycling. During the rally, speakers emphasized that given the current global circumstances and the increasing pressure on energy resources, fuel conservation and environmental protection have become a necessity.
