In a grand gesture of altruism, Nanduben Dahyabhai Paghdare, a 90-year-old resident of Parbadi village in Dhoraji taluka, Rajkot district, has donated a substantial plot of land to the Khodaldham Trust. Despite her ill health and physical limitations, Nanduben went to the Dhoraji sub-registrar's office on a stretcher and penned a will, transferring her 43.5 bighas of land to the Trust.
Known as a land of sages and saints, Saurashtra holds the act of donation in high regard. Nanduben's contribution, which aligns with this long-standing tradition, has been hailed as an exemplar of philanthropy and has earned her immense respect from her community.
Due to her frail health, Nanduben had to be transported to the sub-registrar's office on a stretcher. Undeterred by her condition, she formally wrote and registered her will, while members of the Khodaldham Dhoraji committee were present as witnesses.
Naresh Patel, the president of Khodaldham Trust, expressed his gratitude towards Nanduben's remarkable act of generosity. Acknowledging the donation, he conveyed his best wishes to her and thanked her for her benevolence. Other committee members of the Khodaldham Trust in Dhoraji also honored Nanduben by presenting a statue to her at the sub-registrar's office. Former Dhoraji Upleta MLA, Lalit Vasoya, joined in paying tribute to Nanduben's philanthropy.
Khodaldham, located near Kagawad on the Rajkot-Junagadh highway, is a revered religious site for the Leuva Patidar community. With the purpose of fostering unity through devotion, Khodaldham is home to the majestic Khodiyar Mataji temple. As part of its ongoing efforts, the trust is establishing an Education and Health Dham near the Amreli village on Jamnagar road.
In this crucial juncture of expanding its services, the land donation from Nanduben stands as a valuable contribution for the Khodaldham Trust. The generous act of Nanduben, resonating across communities, underscores the spirit of giving in the region.
