13 killed, 25 injured in a horrific road accident in Palghar
A horrific road accident in Palghar district of Maharashtra turned wedding celebrations into mourning. A tempo carrying a wedding party met with an accident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in the Dhanivari area of Dahanu.
So far, 13 people have died, and more than 25 are reported to be seriously injured. The accident was so devastating that there was chaos at the scene, and panic spread in the surrounding area. Police and local residents immediately began relief and rescue operations.
Preliminary information indicates that on Monday night, the tempo was heading from Bapugaon to Dhanivari to attend an engagement ceremony. It is reported that the driver turned the vehicle in the wrong direction to save time. During this, a speeding container coming from Gujarat towards Mumbai lost control and overturned onto the tempo.
The impact was so severe that many people in the tempo were crushed on the spot. At the time of the accident, there were more than 50 wedding guests in the vehicle. The police arrived at the scene, took possession of the bodies, and began an investigation into the accident.
The causes of the accident are being determined. The administration has made arrangements for better treatment of the injured. There is a mood of mourning in the entire area after this accident.
The family that was supposed to celebrate a wedding is now in grief. Many injured individuals are in critical condition. The injured were immediately admitted to Kasa Sub-District Hospital and Vedanta Hospital located in Dhundalwadi, where they are receiving treatment.
Doctors have reported that the condition of several injured individuals is serious. According to media reports, upon receiving information about the incident, Palghar MP Hemant Sawara and Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh reached the scene. Officials inspected the site and assured better treatment for the injured.
