Surat: International Nurses Day Celebrated at New Civil Hospital

 

Surat. International Nurses Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the auditorium of New Civil Hospital on Monday, May 12.

The event was chaired by Anupam Singh Gehlot. On this occasion, retired nurses who have contributed to healthcare for two to three decades were honored. Addressing the program, Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot stated that nurses are an excellent example of discipline, service, and dedication in society.

He mentioned that the selfless service of nurses instills hope in the lives of patients. Nurses play a crucial role in helping patients recover by providing mental and physical support. He encouraged nurses to always serve with a positive mindset, patience, and a smile.

On this occasion, former Health Director Dr. Vikasben Desai emphasized the need for sensitive behavior and a positive attitude towards patients. She noted that patients coming to government hospitals often struggle with physical, mental, and financial issues, making the empathetic behavior of nurses vital for their treatment.

Soft skills trainer Priyankaben advised nurses to maintain humility in every situation and adopt responsible behavior instead of reactive behavior. The program was attended by Civil Superintendent Dr. Dharitri Parmar, RMO Dr. Ketan Nayak, plastic surgeon Dr. Nilesh Kachhadiya, nursing superintendent Neerajaben Patel, Vice President of the Nursing Council Iqbal Kadivala, Principal of the Nursing College Dr. Indrawati Rao, and members of the Nursing Association including Nilesh Lathia, Viren Patel, and Jagdish Buha, along with a large number of head nurses, staff nurses, and nursing students.
