Save foreign currency, we will emerge victorious amid the West Asia crisis: Vaishnav

In New Delhi, on May 11, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav requested people to act on the Prime Minister's appeal to save foreign currency, stating that India will emerge victorious amid the West Asia crisis. Speaking at the inaugural session of the annual business conference of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Vaishnav mentioned that the impact of the war between two countries is being felt worldwide, including in India, for which the country is not at fault.

He explained that this is due to India's dependence on imports for a significant portion of its energy needs. He urged people to heed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal, noting that the ongoing crisis in West Asia since February 28 has led to a significant increase in fuel prices in many countries, but India has managed to keep it under control. It is noteworthy that Modi had appealed to the public on Sunday to avoid unnecessary foreign travel, refrain from non-essential purchases of gold, and conserve fuel.

Vaishnav stated that as citizens, they can reduce consumption that requires the country to spend foreign currency, while also focusing on increasing foreign currency earnings. He asserted that regardless of the challenges, the Indian economy will continue to grow at a rate of six to eight percent, inflation will remain under control, and the development will be sustainable, allowing India to emerge victorious amid this crisis. He appealed to the industry to set aside all fears and invest, becoming a part of India's growth story.
