The 71st Rail Week Awards ceremony of Western Railway was held on May 8, 2026, at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium in Nariman Point, Mumbai. This annual event honors the hard work and dedication of Western Railway officials and staff, who are always ready to face challenges.
During Rail Week, efficiency shields were awarded to divisions and units in various categories. On this significant occasion, General Manager Ramashray Pandey presented 28 efficiency shields, including the prestigious General Manager's Overall Efficiency Shield, to those divisions and units recognized as the most efficient in various fields for the year 2025-26. Raju Bhadke, the Divisional Railway Manager of Vadodara Division, stated that the Vadodara Division received 10 prestigious efficiency shields for remarkable work in various fields during 2025-26.
He congratulated the division's officials and staff on receiving the 10 shields, emphasizing that this achievement is a result of their collective efforts and expressed the intention to continue working in this manner to secure more shields for the Vadodara Division in the future. The Vadodara Division received the prestigious Account Shield, Commercial Shield, Traction Shield, Medical Shield, Scrap Mobilization Shield, and the Best Workshop Trophy (Pratapnagar Workshop). Additionally, the Civil Engineering Shield was jointly received with Ahmedabad Division, the EnhM Trophy with Ratlam Division, the Safety Shield with Bhavnagar Division, and the Security Shield with Mumbai Central Division, marking a significant achievement for the division.
The jointly received shields will remain with both divisions for six months each. The Civil Engineering Shield will be with Vadodara Division for the first six months and with Ahmedabad Division for the next six months. The EnhM Trophy will be with Ratlam Division for the first six months and with Vadodara Division for the next six months.
The Safety Shield will be with Bhavnagar Division for the first six months and with Vadodara Division for the next six months. The Security Shield will be with Mumbai Central Division for the first six months and with Vadodara Division for the next six months.
