Vadodara: Railway worker sets an example of honesty, returns bag with cash found on track

Salim Khan, a keyman working in the engineering department on the Godhra-Vadodara rail section of Western Railway, set an excellent example of honesty, duty, and humanity by safely returning a lost bag to a passenger. As per agency report, on April 30, 2026, the bag belonging to passenger Deepak Yadav, who was traveling to Varanasi on train number 19165, fell somewhere between Derol and Kharsaliya stations.

He was assigned the task of finding it by his supervisor, and during his track inspection duty, the bag was found by Salim Khan at Kharsaliya. Upon checking the bag, it was found to contain approximately ₹1,30,000 in cash, a mobile phone, clothes, and other essential items.

Salim Khan demonstrated complete honesty and responsibility by safely returning the bag and its valuable contents to the concerned passenger in front of the supervisor. The integrity and dedication displayed by Salim Khan not only reflect the positive work culture of railway employees but also strengthen public trust in Indian Railways.
