Surat: Mega Exhibition of Modern Weapons Begins on 66th Gujarat Gaurav Day

Surat. A grand three-day mega weapons exhibition has been organized by the police department at the indoor stadium in Athwalines as part of the state-level celebrations for the 66th Gujarat Gaurav Day.

The exhibition was inaugurated by District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi and Police Commissioner Anupamsingh Gehlot. It will remain open to the public free of charge until May 1.

The main objective of this event is to familiarize citizens with the modern capabilities and technical resources of security forces and to strengthen the trust between the police and the general public. A wide range of advanced weapons is being showcased, including assault rifles, sniper guns, sub-machine guns, and grenade launchers. Additionally, the Gujarat Police's special units—Chetak Commando and ATS—are also a major attraction, playing a crucial role in internal security and anti-terrorism operations.

Furthermore, high-tech robots and special security suits from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDDS), marine task force and SDRF special boats, diving equipment, and rescue tools related to disaster management are included in the exhibition. Technologies used to combat modern crimes are also being displayed. Information about advanced tools and software used by the Cyber Crime Cell, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and Special Operation Group (SOG) for collecting digital evidence is being provided.

Additionally, activities of the 'She-Team,' which works for the safety of women and children, are also being introduced in detail. The exhibition is proving to be an educational opportunity for students and the general public, where trained police personnel are providing information about weapons and technology in simple language at each stall. The exhibition will be open daily from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM at the Athwalines Indoor Stadium, and entry is completely free.
