Surat is on high alert for the local government elections. The distribution of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and other election materials was successfully completed on Saturday from all receiving and dispatching centers in the district.
Under the guidance of District Election Officer and Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi, the entire process was carried out under strict security arrangements. After careful verification, all materials designated for each polling station, including EVMs, voting kits, voter lists, necessary forms, and ink, were handed over to the polling staff.
Special officers were deployed at every center to maintain transparency in the election process. Monitoring was conducted at every stage, from sealing the EVMs to their secure transportation. Armed police security and special vehicles were arranged for this purpose.
Final instructions were also given to polling officials and presiding officers regarding the precautions to be taken while receiving the materials. Additionally, strict checking and security arrangements were made to maintain law and order at the dispatching centers.
All polling staff have reached their designated polling stations according to their responsibilities. The district election administration has appealed to voters to participate in large numbers to make this democratic festival a success.
