Surat: Investment Forum Organized by Chamber, Experts Emphasize Long-Term Investment
Surat. The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized 'Investment Forum 2.0' on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Platinum Hall in Sarsana, aimed at guiding investors and providing information on global economic conditions.
The event began with a welcome speech by the Chamber's President, Mr. Nikhil Madras. He mentioned that awareness about the right investments has become crucial in rapidly changing economic conditions, and such events help guide investors in the right direction.
On this occasion, Mr. Ridham Desai, Managing Director of Morgan Stanley India, presented his views as the keynote speaker on the topic 'India Post War: To Be or Not To Be.' He analyzed global political and economic conditions and stated that despite uncertainties, India is moving towards strong growth. He advised investors to adopt a long-term perspective rather than being affected by short-term fluctuations.
He noted that factors such as India's young population, digital progress, and strong economic infrastructure have the potential to advance the country on a global scale. Mr. Ridham Desai also mentioned that significant growth is expected in sectors like technology, infrastructure, electricity, and energy management, which will create new investment opportunities.
He emphasized the importance of asset allocation, diversification, and disciplined investment strategies for success in investing. After the keynote session, a panel discussion on long-term investment in equity was held. In this discussion, Mr.
Govind Parikh, Founder of Govind Parikh Securities, shared his experiences, stating that patience, discipline, and long-term thinking are essential for success in the stock market. The event was attended by the Chamber's Vice President Mr. Ashok Jirawala, Secretary Mr.
Bijal Zariwala, Treasurer CA Mr. Mitesh Modi, industrialists, investors, and professionals. The Chamber Group Chairman Mr.
Kamlesh Gajera provided detailed information about the event. Mr. Ayub Yakub Ali, Chairman of the Chamber's Capital and Commodity Market Committee, introduced the keynote speaker Mr.
Ridham Desai. Mr. Ketan Dalal, Advisor of the Capital and Commodity Market Committee, moderated the event.
Dr. Rakesh Doshi, Co-Chairman of the Capital and Commodity Market Committee, moderated the question-and-answer session. Investors and professionals participated enthusiastically in this session, where experts provided satisfactory answers to various questions, and the program concluded.
