TCL Season-4 Concludes in Surat, 'Shining Stars' Crowned Champions
The fourth season of the TCL (Top Champions League), organized to promote women's cricket in Surat, successfully concluded. Eight teams participated enthusiastically in this two-day tournament held at the L.P.
Savani Cricket Ground, showcasing excellent sportsmanship. Launched in 2011, this league aims to encourage non-professional women's cricket across various cities in Gujarat. The eight teams in Surat Season-4 included Chak De 1, The Legends, Team Preeti Joshi, Police Team, Shakti Team, Shining Stars, Dominators, and Stellar Strikers.
In the final match, the 'Shining Stars' team displayed outstanding performance to claim the title, while 'The Legends' team was the runner-up. Both teams won the hearts of the audience with their excellent performances throughout the tournament. On this occasion, the founder of TCL, Nimisha Shah, mentioned that this league provides a powerful platform for women to advance in sports and showcase their talent.
She also expressed the goal of taking TCL to a national level. Advocate Preetiben Joshi, the owner of Team Preeti Joshi, encouraged greater participation of women in sports, stating that such events promote confidence and teamwork. Her team included 12 women lawyers, such as Captain Sangeeta Khut, Divya Kosambia, Funny Patel, Hetal, Sheila Patel, Tripti Thakkar, and Chhaya Gohil.
A notable aspect of the tournament was that all participants, despite being non-professional, had a deep passion for the game. Women from various professions, including homemakers, doctors, and lawyers, participated, proving that cricket is not just a sport but a passion.
The winning team was awarded a trophy and prize money by Nimisha Shah and Advocate Preeti Joshi. TCL Surat Season-4 has infused new energy into women's cricket and raised hopes for the expansion of such events in the future.
