Surat: Ladies Wing of the Chamber organizes 'Nari Shakti Vandana' program, emphasizing women's empowerment
The 'Nari Shakti Vandana' program was organized by the Ladies Wing of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Science Center in Surat. Gujarat's Education and Health Minister, Prafulbhai Panseriya, was present as the chief guest.
In his address, Minister Panseriya provided information about various government schemes aimed at the overall development of women. He stated that women should become self-reliant by fully utilizing these schemes and should establish a distinct identity in society based on their skills and capabilities. At the beginning of the program, Mayuriben Mevawala, the president of the Ladies Wing, delivered a welcome speech emphasizing the need to provide women with proper guidance, opportunities, and encouragement for empowerment.
Such events inspire women to move forward. Nikhil Madras, the chamber's president, mentioned that women's empowerment should not remain limited to words but must be implemented in practice, highlighting the significant role of women in society. Speaker D.R.
Joshi elaborated on the free legal aid available under the Legal Services Authority Act 1987 and urged women to be aware of their legal rights. Bhavik Rawal from First Education stressed the importance of women's education, stating that an educated woman plays a crucial role in the development of the entire society. Dr.
Vikas Desai expressed concern over malnutrition and anemia among women, emphasizing the need for regular health check-ups and a balanced diet. At the end of the program, Alpa Ben Madras, the vice chairperson of the Ladies Wing, expressed gratitude to all participants.
The event was conducted by Swati Sethwala, and over 300 women from various fields enthusiastically participated. The program facilitated extensive discussions on important topics such as women's empowerment, education, health awareness, and legal rights.
