After a Flop Film, Akshay Kumar Returned Money, Ekta Kapoor Revealed the Truth
The trailer for the horror-comedy film Bhoot Bangla, starring actor Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, was launched on April 6 in Mumbai. Producer Ekta Kapoor was also present at the event along with the entire star cast.
During the trailer launch, Ekta Kapoor shared an old story related to Akshay Kumar that surprised everyone. She mentioned that in her 31-year career, she had never seen an actor return their fee after a film flopped. She stated that Akshay Kumar personally came to her with a check and said he was returning the money to compensate for the losses incurred by the film.
Ekta had refused him, suggesting that they should work on another film together, which would allow him to earn better in the future. The film Ekta was referring to was Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara (2013), which was not successful at the box office.
Now, both have come together again for Bhoot Bangla, which is set to release in theaters on April 17, with paid preview shows scheduled for April 16. The film also features Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Asrani, and Vamika Gabbi in significant roles.
