General Chauhan reviews military preparations near the Line of Control

General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff, visited strategically important areas under the Chinar Corps in Srinagar on Saturday to assess military preparations. The Ministry of Defence reported that the Chief of Defence Staff reviewed the security landscape and operational situation along the Line of Control in North Kashmir and appreciated the excellent operational readiness, doctrinal coherence, and strong professional capability.

In Baramulla, he was briefed on the future technological integration of the forces. Addressing the officers of the Chinar Corps, he mentioned that the nature of warfare is undergoing significant changes, necessitating a shift towards multi-domain operations from a region-centric approach, which should be based on a robust and integrated structure. He emphasized the importance of unity, stating that seamless integration across land, air, maritime, cyber, space, and other relevant domains is essential for achieving decisive outcomes.

He called for rapid joint training for future-oriented warfare, harmonization of doctrines, and the development of interoperable command and control structures to achieve coordinated results across all domains. General Chauhan stressed the need for a well-planned roadmap to address emerging challenges, promoting collective preparedness through technological adaptation, resilience, and integrated efforts. He reiterated that preparation for potential threats should be based on foresight, innovation, an integrated combat philosophy, and the efforts of the entire nation.

He highlighted the importance of operational readiness and resilience amid changing security challenges. The Chief of Defence Staff urged all ranks to maintain operational excellence, make jointness a part of life, and be prepared for dominance across the full spectrum of future conflicts. He also interacted with representatives of the civil administration, prominent individuals, and officials in Baramulla to review nation-building efforts.
