PM Modi criticizes Congress for politicizing AI Impact Summit while dedicating Namo Bharat corridor to nation
Meerut February 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party while inaugurating various development projects in Meerut, Western Uttar Pradesh. He stated that the Congress and its ecosystem had turned the world's largest AI Impact Summit held in India into a platform for their dirty politics.
The Prime Minister noted that representatives from over 80 countries attended the AI Impact Summit in Delhi, with heads of state from about 20 nations visiting India. As per agency report, he asked the people of Meerut if they were proud of this global conference, adding that while the entire country felt honored, the Congress attempted to tarnish the nation's image before foreign guests through semi-nude demonstrations. He remarked that the country already knows the reality of the party, questioning the need for such displays and terming it a sign of ideological bankruptcy. He further alleged that the Congress is intent on defaming India and is unable to digest the country's achievements.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister launched India's first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (RRTS) service and dedicated the entire Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and the Meerut Metro (Meerut South-Modipuram) to the nation. He highlighted that for the first time, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and Metro services are being inaugurated from the same platform, reflecting the modern connectivity of a developed India. He explained that the operation of Namo Bharat and Metro rail on the same track and at the same station is happening for the first time in the country. Indian Rail, Metro, and bus stands have been interconnected at Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, and Meerut stations to facilitate smooth travel within the city and to Delhi.
He emphasized the work culture of the double-engine government, stating that projects are now completed in a time-bound manner rather than being left pending as in the past. Highlighting the expansion of infrastructure, he mentioned that while metro services were limited to only five cities before 2014, they are now operational in over 25 cities, making India the country with the third-largest metro network in the world. He added that the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is also a symbol of women's empowerment, with a large number of women working in critical positions such as train operators and station control staff.
The Prime Minister recalled the vision of Chaudhary Charan Singh, noting that the region of Meerut and Hapur had witnessed his vision closely and that his government had the privilege of awarding him the Bharat Ratna. He informed that farmers in Uttar Pradesh have received approximately 95,000 crore rupees under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Concluding his address, he stated that developed nations are eager to sign trade agreements with India today because they see their future in India's youth and development, contrasting this with the Congress era when scams made the world hesitate to engage with the country.
