Ticket sales for T20 World Cup 2026 begin with prices starting as low as Rs 100

Mumbai, December 11. The ticket sales for the T20 World Cup 2026 commenced on Thursday, with prices in the initial phase set as low as 100 rupees or 1000 Sri Lankan rupees for certain locations. India and Sri Lanka are jointly hosting the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from February 7 to March 8.

The International Cricket Council announced the sale of tickets for the 10th edition of the T20 World Cup on its platform, noting that the tournament featuring 20 teams will be played across eight venues. As per agency report, the host cities in India will be Ahmedabad, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, while Sri Lanka will host matches in Colombo at two venues and in Kandy. Defending champions India are set to face the USA in one of the three matches scheduled for the first day of the tournament.

ICC Chief Executive Officer Sanjog Gupta described the first phase of ticket sales as a significant milestone in their journey to organize the most accessible global ICC tournament to date. He stated that their vision for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is clear, aiming to provide every fan with the opportunity to experience world-class cricket in the stadium, irrespective of their background or financial status. Gupta emphasized that by offering tickets starting from just 100 rupees and 1000 Sri Lankan rupees, they are placing affordability at the center of their strategy.

The ICC official further added that the initiative is about inviting millions to be part of the global celebration of cricket, noting that the 2026 edition with 20 teams and 55 matches will be the most ambitious and inclusive T20 World Cup in history. Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Devajit Saikia remarked that the excitement surrounding the event has multiplied with tickets starting at just 100 rupees and affirmed their commitment to creating a world-class match-day experience.
