Over 2,300 Anganwadi Workers Receive Appointment Letters at Rajkot Zonal Ceremony

Rajkot, 17 November: Under the statewide programme to distribute appointment letters to newly selected Anganwadi workers, a zonal-level ceremony was held in Rajkot where Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Ramanbhai Solanki, along with invited dignitaries, handed over appointment letters to 2,336 Anganwadi workers. The event was attended by the mayor, district panchayat president, legislators and other notable guests.

As per agency report, Minister Ramanbhai Solanki extended his best wishes to the newly appointed workers and said that they have been given an opportunity to contribute to the holistic development of children in Gujarat by embodying the role of Yashoda Mata. He stated that nearly nine thousand Anganwadi workers across the state and more than 2,300 in the Saurashtra zone have joined service. He added that the recruitment process was conducted transparently through an online, merit-based system.

He noted that Anganwadi workers and helpers form an important foundation of social development by providing education, nutrition and cultural values to children. He emphasised that freeing children from malnutrition and ensuring proper nourishment lays the groundwork for a brighter future.

Legislator Bhanuben Babariya said that the new appointees have earned the honour of being compared to Yashoda Mata, as young children move from their mother’s care to the guidance of Anganwadi workers where they learn their first lessons. She urged the newly appointed workers to responsibly inspire children to walk the path of progress.

Collector Omprakash presented an outline of the event in his welcome address and congratulated all newly appointed workers.
