Newborn Rescued and Given New Lease on Life in Jasdan

Rajkot, November 19, 2025: The Rajkot District Health Department and the 108 Emergency Service team demonstrated exceptional humanity by providing timely treatment and a new lease on life to an unknown newborn found in the Jasdan area. The incident occurred last night at 11:31 PM when the Ghela Somnath 108 ambulance received an emergency call from the Jasdan area. According to the information, a crying newborn was found near a thorny fence behind the Bhutada Dada Temple in Gangabhuvan.

Local residents had heard the baby crying from the empty field for approximately two hours. Initially, people were alarmed by the cries on a cold night, but after gathering and investigating the area, they found the newborn entangled in the bushes. The police and 108 service were immediately informed.

The vigilant 108 team, comprising EMT Indrajitbhai Dangar and pilot Mansukhbhai Menia, arrived at the scene within minutes. The team carefully extricated the baby from the thorns and provided primary treatment. Upon examination, it was discovered that the baby was premature. The EMT immediately administered oxygen support and transported the infant to the Jasdan Government Hospital.

At the hospital, Dr. Nikhil, recognizing the baby's critical condition, referred the infant to Rajkot Civil Hospital for better treatment. There, the baby was officially handed over to Dr. Yashvi. According to the hospital administration, the newborn's condition is currently improving, as per agency report. The swift response, vigilance, and humanitarian service of the 108 ambulance team during the incident are being widely praised.
