Unseasonal Rains Hit Amreli Amidst Heatwave, Sparks Concern Among Farmers

An unexpected shift in weather patterns brought unseasonal rains to the rural regions of Amreli district in Gujarat on Saturday, amid a prolonged period of scorching heat across the state. In particular, the regions of Amreli's Dhari, Gir, and surrounding areas experienced the sudden downpour that transformed the summer season into a monsoon-like setting.

Local farmers have expressed their concern over this abrupt change in weather. Unseasonal rains in regions such as Amreli and Gir have raised fears of potential damage to crops, adding to the apprehensions of the farming community.

While these pockets of the state received unexpected rain, the Meteorological Department predicts dry weather across Gujarat for the next five days. Amidst these unpredictable conditions, an Orange Alert has been issued for Ahmedabad, warning residents of a severe heatwave. The city's temperature is projected to hover around 43 degrees Celsius. However, a slight dip of one degree in the maximum temperature is anticipated over the coming four days.
