IDI and SJMA Sign MoU to Strengthen Surat’s Gems and Jewellery Sector
Surat, 17 November: The Indian Diamond Institute and the Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association signed a significant memorandum of understanding on Monday aimed at enhancing technical, educational and skill-based support for the city’s gems and jewellery industry.
As per agency report, the agreement positions the Indian Diamond Institute as a collaborating institution for upcoming initiatives of the Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association. Both organisations plan to jointly organise workshops, seminars, training sessions and awareness programmes to promote quality improvement, advanced skill development and innovation in the gems and jewellery sector.
Under the MoU, the two bodies will work together to establish a complementary framework enabling jewellery manufacturers, including member companies of the association, to access the institute’s educational programmes and gemology laboratory services more effectively.
The association will also promote the institute’s laboratory facilities, academic courses, training modules and research initiatives through its platforms, events, publications, exhibitions and member-outreach activities.
This agreement is being seen as a crucial step towards the planned growth of Surat’s jewellery industry and the strengthening of the institute’s presence at national and international levels. The MoU was signed by Dineshbhai Navadia on behalf of the Indian Diamond Institute and by Amitbhai Korat on behalf of the Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association in the presence of Jayanti Savaliya, Vijay Mangukiya, Mahesh Mangukiya, Divyesh Mavani, Paresh Maniya and Deepak Ghadhasariya.
