British National Escapes from Delhi Airport Amid Deportation, Massive Search Operation Underway
New Delhi, November 7 – A major security breach occurred at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after a British national, who was being deported from Thailand to the United Kingdom, allegedly escaped from the airport’s immigration area. The incident has prompted a large-scale search operation by multiple security agencies.
As per agency report, the fugitive identified as Fitz Patrick had arrived in Delhi from Bangkok on October 28. He was scheduled to be extradited to the United Kingdom via Thailand but managed to evade officials shortly after landing. Authorities said he slipped out of the immigration area before the completion of formal procedures and exited the airport premises undetected.
Following the escape, Delhi Police and airport security personnel launched an intensive manhunt to locate him. Officials confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered after questioning airline staff and concerned authorities. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for airport security, has joined hands with the Bureau of Immigration and Delhi Police to trace the fugitive.
CCTV footage from various sections of the airport is being thoroughly examined to establish the sequence of events and identify possible lapses that enabled the escape. Teams have been deployed across the National Capital Region (NCR) to monitor potential hideouts and exit points.
Authorities have assured that coordinated efforts are underway to ensure the recapture of the escaped British national and to prevent similar breaches in the future.
