Minister Harsh Sanghvi Provides Clarity on Timing of Police Recruitment during Rajkot Visit

Rajkot, Gujarat – State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi has made a definitive statement regarding the timeline of police recruitment in the state, putting an end to speculations. The Minister stated unequivocally that the recruitment process will resume after the month of September.

Minister Sanghvi was in Rajkot for the inauguration of the new accommodation facility at the Rajkot Police Headquarters when he addressed the uncertainty surrounding the recruitment timeline. His assurance comes as a response to confusion among many awaiting the state government's move on the matter.

The Minister further explained that due to the extreme heat in the upcoming summer season, coupled with the monsoon, the government has decided to delay the recruitment process until after September. This timeline also includes the conducting of physical tests, an integral part of the recruitment procedure, which is not feasible during the hot summer and monsoon seasons.

The announcement of the recruitment of 8,000 new policemen was first made in March by the Home Department. The Department also mentioned that the practical examinations will be held post-summer. The planned recruitment process represents a large-scale addition to the police force in the state, a testament to the Gujarat government's commitment to maintaining law and order.

This announcement follows various demands made in the Gujarat Assembly for the need for recruitment in the Police Department. Minister Sanghvi's statement in Rajkot reiterates the government's dedication to strengthening the police department with a fresh influx of manpower in the coming year.
