Surat Chamber of Commerce Collaborates with District Industry Center for Entrepreneurs' Awareness Session
In-Depth Overview of Gujarat Government's Trade and Industry Incentive Schemes Presented to Local Entrepreneurs
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the District Industries Center Surat hosted a joint awareness session on the 'Promotional Schemes for Trade and Industry of the Gujarat Government'. In this comprehensive overview, District Industries Center's General Manager M.K. Ladani provided an explanation of various government incentive schemes aimed to bolster trade and industries. These included the Atmanirbhar Gujarat Yojana 2019, Gujarat Textile Policy 2019, and the Logistics Policy.
Ladani highlighted that the Atmanirbhar Gujarat scheme includes all industries, with a special focus on providing subsidy to micro-industries based on the taluka (administrative division). Micro industries situated in Umarpada and Mahuva taluks of the Surat district would receive a 25% subsidy, 20% in Bardoli and Mandvi taluks, and a 10% loan amount in Mangrol, Kamrej, Sion, and Olpad taluks.
The scheme also offers considerable benefits to MSMEs, including a net SGST reimbursement ranging from 80 to 100% over ten years, contingent on the taluka. MSMEs can expect an annual interest subsidy of up to INR 35 lakh per taluka for seven years and EPF reimbursement for a decade. The unit holder's E.P.F. would receive a subsidy of either 12% of the reimbursement or INR 1800, whichever is less, for five years.
Gujarat Textile Policy 2019, exclusively for the Textile Industry, allows MSMEs to avail a 6% interest payment subsidy. Subsidies based on the number of employees and the type of power connection were also detailed. Textile industrialists participating in exhibitions at various levels can enjoy subsidies up to INR 5 lakh.
Additionally, a substantial subsidy of up to INR 30 crore is provided for developers establishing industrial parks. Under the Logistics Policy, capital subsidy of up to INR 15 crore is allocated for the creation of Logistics Parks.
The session opened with a welcome speech by Chamber President Himanshu Bodawala, followed by a vote of thanks by President Elect Ramesh Vaghasia. The entire event was moderated by Rajeev Kapsiawala, chairman of the Chamber's Government Planning Committee. Participants, including various industrial associations' office bearers and representatives, engaged in a Q&A session before the event's conclusion.
