India upheld dignity and avenged injustice through Operation Sindoor, says Prime Minister Modi in Diwali letter

New Delhi, October 21 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a special letter to the nation on the occasion of Diwali, reflected on the country’s major recent achievements, including the success of Operation Sindoor and the fight against Naxalism. He stated that at a time when the world faces multiple crises, India has emerged as a beacon of stability and resilience.

As per agency report, the Prime Minister described the decision to reduce GST rates as one of the historic accomplishments of his government, noting that citizens are saving thousands of crores of rupees during the ongoing “GST Savings Festival.” He urged people to strengthen the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” by embracing indigenous products, respecting all Indian languages, prioritizing health, and adopting yoga as a part of daily life.

Writing the letter a day after celebrating Diwali with naval personnel aboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, Modi said that these collective efforts would guide the nation toward a rapidly developing India. Extending greetings for the festival, he noted that this is the second Diwali being celebrated after the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Citing Lord Ram’s teachings, Modi said that the festival reminds citizens to uphold righteousness and show courage against injustice. “A living example of this,” he wrote, “was witnessed a few months ago during Operation Sindoor, when India not only acted in accordance with dharma but also avenged injustice.”

The Prime Minister remarked that this Diwali holds special significance as lamps will be lit across several districts — including remote areas — where Naxalism and Maoist violence have now been completely eradicated. He highlighted how many former extremists have abandoned the path of violence and joined the mainstream of development by reaffirming their faith in the Indian Constitution.

Emphasizing the nation’s progress, Modi said that India has recently embarked on next-generation reforms. He mentioned that reduced GST rates were implemented on the first day of Navratri, leading to massive savings for citizens and marking the beginning of a new phase of economic transformation.

He further stated that while many parts of the world are grappling with instability, India has stood out as a model of steadiness and compassion, and is now on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

Reiterating his call for civic responsibility, Modi urged citizens to fulfill their duties toward the nation, support domestic products with pride, and actively promote cleanliness, unity, and wellness. Encouraging people to cut oil usage in cooking by 10 percent and adopt yoga, he said these small but meaningful steps would collectively accelerate the nation’s journey toward a developed India.

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister said that Diwali teaches the eternal lesson that “when one lamp lights another, its brightness does not diminish — it multiplies.” He urged every citizen to light lamps of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in their surroundings to spread the true spirit of the festival across the nation.
