Deadly Bus Collision in Madhya Pradesh Claims Five Lives, Leaves Thirteen Injured
Bus En Route to Gujarat from Uttar Pradesh Rams into Trolley, Resulting in Tragic Casualties
A severe road accident in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur district claimed the lives of five passengers and injured thirteen others when a bus traveling from Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur to Gujarat's Ahmedabad collided with a trolley. The local police relayed this tragic information on Thursday morning.
The accident took place on the Maksi-Ujjain road between Maksi and the village of Kaytha at around 4:00 AM, according to Gopal Singh Chauhan, the officer-in-charge at the Maksi police station. The bus, operated by Sharda Travels (license plate UP 75 AT 4799), suffered significant damage, with the front portion completely crushed. Some of the injured passengers were found on the road, while others were trapped inside the bus wreckage.
Three passengers died at the accident scene, while two more succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The deceased have been identified as Meerabai (45), Ramjanki (40), Radha (18), Sumitra (50), and Lalsingh (70), all residents of Uttar Pradesh. The injured, including Sandeep (25), Amit (28), Parmatma (50), Neeru (22), Kaushalya (38), Sheela (32), Pushpa Devi (40), Anjali (13), Kajal (16), Gopal (25), Kedar Singh (34), Gopal Porwal (30), and Ram Kiloni (51), were transported to Ujjain for treatment.
Passenger accounts reveal that the bus was speeding in the night when the accident occurred, catching the sleeping passengers unawares. The police have launched an investigation into the tragic incident.
