The Surat Municipal Corporation has uncovered a disturbing health violation in the city's dairy industry. Ten local dairies were found to be selling adulterated paneer (cottage cheese), leading the Municipality to initiate a series of stringent actions, including the imminent filing of complaints against these establishments.

On May 3, food inspectors from the Surat Municipal Corporation collected 15 paneer samples from various establishments across the city for testing. The lab results revealed that 10 out of these 15 samples failed to meet the standard criteria, prompting immediate action.

Institutions found guilty of this health violation include Kanaiya Dairy Farm & Sweet, Jai Gayatri Dairy & Parlor, Surabhi Dairy Sweet & Ice Cream Parlor, Bharat Dairy, Surabhi Dairy Products, Lakhani Dairy, Shreeji Dairy & Chopati Ice Cream, Sukhsagar Dairy, Goga Marketing, and Noorani Dairy Farm. The Municipal Corporation has initiated the process of registering complaints against these establishments for violating health and safety regulations.

Alongside this legal action, the Municipal Corporation took immediate steps to mitigate potential health risks to the public. In a decisive move, 240 kilograms of the adulterated paneer from these establishments were destroyed. The swift response by the Surat Municipal Corporation serves as a clear warning to other establishments in the food industry to strictly adhere to food safety standards.

This incident underscores the importance of regular food testing and stringent enforcement of health and safety regulations to protect the health and well-being of the public.
