Healthcare Revolution in Surat: DGVCL Donates High-End Microsurgery Machine to Civil Hospital
Patients Set to Benefit From Local, Affordable Microsurgery; Long Trips to Ahmedabad No Longer Necessary
In a significant boost to Surat's healthcare system, the city's Civil Hospital is set to introduce enhanced medical services for its patients, following a generous donation from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL). The power company has gifted the hospital a state-of-the-art microsurgery machine, valued at INR 75 lakh, obviating the need for patients to seek such intricate medical procedures in distant Ahmedabad or private facilities.
The microsurgery machine, a first for the Surat Civil Hospital, arrived at the medical facility today, marking a milestone in the history of the institution. This landmark acquisition will substantially increase the medical services the hospital can provide, offering a new level of treatment for patients who require complex surgical procedures.
Superintendent of Surat Civil Hospital, Ganesh Govekar, confirmed that the high-end surgical equipment would soon be operational following its installation. The introduction of this advanced technology is expected to bring significant relief to patients needing microsurgeries, as they will no longer be required to travel to Ahmedabad or make costly private hospital visits.
In addition, Govekar underscored the fact that surgeries, which typically cost between INR 20 to 30 lakh in private hospitals, will now be performed at the Civil Hospital at a significantly reduced rate, making advanced medical treatments more accessible to the residents of Surat. The introduction of the microsurgery machine marks a significant leap forward in the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive, affordable healthcare.
