Javed Akhtar Reveals Why Only Amitabh Bachchan Played Characters Named ‘Vijay’
Mumbai, October 10 — Renowned Bollywood lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar has revealed on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) that he never gave the name ‘Vijay’ to any film character except those played by Amitabh Bachchan.
As per agency report, the popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 is celebrating the 83rd birthday of megastar Amitabh Bachchan with a special episode filled with nostalgia, laughter, and heartfelt moments. The upcoming episode will feature the father-son duo Javed Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar as special guests.
During the show, Javed Akhtar, who shares a long-standing friendship with Amitabh Bachchan, shared an interesting anecdote about how the name ‘Vijay’ became synonymous with the superstar. In his trademark storytelling style, Akhtar said that he reserved the name ‘Vijay’ exclusively for Bachchan in his films and never used it for any other actor.
From classics like Zanjeer and Deewar to Don and Trishul, the name ‘Vijay’ became deeply associated with Amitabh Bachchan’s most iconic roles — a legacy that continues to define the golden era of Indian cinema.
The special birthday episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 will air today, October 10, exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.
