56-Year-Old Padmala Temple Servant Donates Organs After Death, Inspiring Act of Humanity

Vadodara. In a remarkable gesture of compassion, the family of 56-year-old Hitendra Manilal Parmar, who served at the Jain temple in Padmala village of Vadodara taluka, fulfilled his wish for organ donation after his passing, setting an inspiring example of humanity. His organs were donated at Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad (SSG) Hospital amid an emotional atmosphere following his declaration as brain dead.

As per agency report, Parmar’s health deteriorated on October 3 after a sudden rise in blood pressure, leading to his admission at SSG Hospital. Despite doctors placing him on a ventilator, he was later declared brain dead. When the doctors suggested organ donation, his family revealed that Hitendra had already pledged to donate his organs while alive. He had often said, “After my death, donate my organs to help others.” His nephew Vipul Parmar shared that Hitendra was deeply devoted to service and charity throughout his life.

Dr. Rajendra Rathod of SSG Hospital informed that after completing all medical formalities, Hitendra’s liver, both kidneys, and two corneas were successfully donated. These organs will give a new lease of life to five different patients.

According to hospital authorities, this was the seventh organ donation recorded at SSG Hospital this year. Hitendra Manilal Parmar’s selfless act has sent a powerful message of humanity, compassion, and awareness about the importance of organ donation in society.
