All public tickets for India–Australia T20 match in Melbourne sold out nearly three weeks in advance
Melbourne, October 6. All public tickets for the second T20 match between India and Australia, scheduled to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on October 31, have been sold out nearly three weeks before the game. The match is part of the five-match T20 series to be held from October 29 to November 8.
As per agency report, Cricket Australia (CA) announced on Monday that public ticket allocations for the Melbourne T20 clash have been completely exhausted well in advance. AFL member tickets will be available from Monday, while MCC member tickets will go on sale from Tuesday.
Prior to the T20 series, the two teams will play a three-match ODI series between October 19 and 25 in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney. The T20 series will then be played across Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Gold Coast and Brisbane. CA noted that the overwhelming demand for Melbourne tickets reflects the growing interest in India’s limited-overs tour of Australia. More than 175,000 tickets have already been sold for the eight matches scheduled between the two teams. Public allocations for matches in Sydney and Manuka Oval have also sold out.
The Indian squad for the limited-overs series has been announced, with Shubman Gill set to lead the ODI team, which includes senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20 side.
During their previous bilateral tour of Australia in 2020–21, India had lost the ODI series 1–2 but bounced back to win the T20 series by the same margin, setting the stage for another highly anticipated contest this year.
