Amitabh Bachchan honours homemakers, urges women to take pride in their role
Mumbai, October 6. Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has once again paid tribute to one of society’s most important groups—homemakers. Through his blog, he highlighted that many women tend to undervalue their hard work and responsibilities, urging them to proudly embrace their identity because managing a home is no easy task.
As per agency report, Amitabh shared that during his television quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), he often asks audience members what they do, and many women reply softly that they are homemakers. He questioned why women underplay this role and encouraged them to speak about it with pride and confidence, rather than in a subdued manner. He emphasized that managing a household involves numerous responsibilities, including caring for the husband and children, cooking meals, and handling a wide range of daily tasks, all of which require dedication and skill.
He explained in his blog that homemaking is not just housework but a form of management that demands everything to run efficiently. He urged women to take pride in the significant contribution they make to their families and society. Recalling the COVID-19 lockdown, Amitabh noted that many men came to truly understand the magnitude of their wives’ responsibilities when they had to manage household chores themselves. This experience, he said, highlighted the real value of domestic work.
Amitabh concluded by reiterating that running a home is a major responsibility that requires both time and energy. He ended his blog with a personal note, mentioning he had to leave for work early in the morning and expressing gratitude to his well-wishers for their constant love and support, which he said goes beyond words.
