Breast milk donation camp in Surat sees participation from 82 mothers

Surat, October 5. A breast milk donation camp organized by Amrutam Sanstha on Sunday witnessed participation from 82 mothers who came forward to donate milk. The organization has been running this unique initiative for the past 17 years to make mother’s milk available to infants in need.

ज्‍his was the 32nd camp organized by the institution. President Kunj Pansari highlighted that while blood and monetary donations are common, donating breast milk is one of the most meaningful forms of giving, directly benefiting infants whose mothers are unable to produce sufficient milk or have none at all.

The event was attended by Sandhya Gehlot, wife of the Surat Police Commissioner, as the special guest. She emphasized that mother’s milk is nature’s perfect nourishment and plays a crucial role in both the physical and mental development of children, making it a better option than artificial or powdered milk.

The donated milk undergoes laboratory testing before being safely stored and distributed to mothers whose babies require it. Through such initiatives, Amrutam Sanstha continues to strengthen Surat’s identity as a city known for its charitable spirit.
