Women’s Safety Drive by Abhayam Helpline During Navratri in Rajkot

Rajkot witnessed a dedicated safety drive for women during the Navratri festivities as the Gujarat government’s 181 Abhayam Women Helpline team undertook a special campaign from September 22 to 29. The initiative aimed to ensure women’s security and spread awareness about welfare schemes while visiting both traditional and modern garba venues across the city.

As per report, the Racecourse team actively engaged with women at several prominent venues including Welcome Navratri Sanatan Party Plot, Radha Foundation, Ramdhani Party Plot, Sahiyar Rasotsav, Bamboo Beats, Jainam Uniting, Raghuvanshi Saheli Group, Sundaram City Garbi, Navdurga Garbi, Gautamnagar Garbi, Butbhavani Garbi, Shiv Garbi, Radheshyam Gaushala Garbi, Guruprasad Chowk Garbi, Om Shivay Yuva Group Garbi, Khodiyar Garbi Anandi Ashram and Chamunda Garbi. At these events, women were guided on safety measures and informed about the helpline’s facilities.

The Rajkot B Division Police Station team also joined the campaign by reaching out at Khodaldham South Zone Navratri Mahotsav, Brahmakshatriya Mahila Pragati Mandal, Shri Jay Ambe Adarsh Garbi Mandal, Butbhavani Garbi, Ramapir Garbi, Shri Ram Garbi and other locations. They spread awareness about the Abhayam scheme and its role in assisting women in distress.

Similarly, the Rajkot Taluka Police Station team visited garba celebrations organized by SPG Group, Leo Lions Club, Aaryanagar, Kishanpara, Adarsh Residential School, Jai Bhavani, Jai Ambe, Navdurga and Ram-Lakshman-Sitaji Garbi among others. During these visits, women were greeted with festive wishes and provided detailed information on government initiatives focused on their welfare.

The campaign saw active participation from several key members including Rajkot Abhayam councillors Krupaliben Trivedi, Truptiben Patel, Sumitaben Parmar, Binaben Gohil, Kajalben Parmar, Sheetalben Sarvaiya, Madhviben Sarvaiya, women constable Jankiben Joliya, Urmilaben Kateshiya, Shilpaben Chavda, Harshaben Dabhi, Rojiben, Sangeetaben Pandya, Ritvikaben Rathod, Payalben and many other volunteers. Their collective efforts played a significant role in reaching out to women and making the Navratri celebrations in Rajkot safer and more inclusive.
