Surat to Get First Amrit Bharat Express Connecting Udhna and Berhampur

Surat, September 25 – Gujarat is set to receive its first Amrit Bharat Express, with the new train scheduled to run weekly between Udhna in Surat and Berhampur in Odisha. The train’s rake arrived at Udhna station yesterday, and a successful trial run was launched this morning between Udhna and Nandurbar.

As per agency report, during the trial, the train covered the Udhna–Nandurbar stretch in about one and a half hours. Mumbai Central Railway Division’s DRM Pankaj Singh also inspected the preparations at Udhna station ahead of the launch.

The official inauguration will take place on September 27, when Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will flag off the train from Udhna station. This inaugural journey will be operated as train numbers 09021 and 09022.

Regular services are scheduled to begin on October 5. Train number 19021 from Udhna to Berhampur will depart every Sunday, while the return service, train number 19022 from Berhampur to Udhna, will run every Monday starting October 6.

With the Railway Minister’s visit approaching, Udhna station has undergone a fresh round of cleaning, painting, and decoration, with pandals being set up to mark the occasion.
