Interactive Session on National Pension System for Corporates Held in Surat

Surat – The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), in collaboration with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and FICCI, organized an interactive session on the National Pension System (NPS) for corporates on Friday, September 19, 2025, at ‘Samahati’ in Sarsana, Surat.

In his welcome address, SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi said the session aimed to guide the corporate sector on the structure of NPS, its tax benefits, and its role in ensuring long-term financial security.

Sumit Kumar, Chief General Manager of PFRDA, described NPS as not merely a pension scheme but a pillar of disciplined savings and financial security. Assistant General Manager Khushboo Shukla provided detailed insights into retirement benefits under the scheme, while Chartered Accountant Pragnesh Jagsheth elaborated on the tax advantages.

FICCI Gujarat State Council Head, Biju Namboodiri, highlighted that NPS is rapidly gaining popularity as a reliable retirement planning option and encouraged greater corporate participation.

As per agency report, the combined corpus under NPS and Atal Pension Yojana had reached Rs 15.77 lakh crore by September 14, 2025, with more than 8.92 crore subscribers enrolled. Gujarat leads in private sector participation, with over 3.66 lakh subscribers and more than 1,500 registered corporates.

The event was attended by SGCCI Honorary Secretary Bijal Jariwala, Honorary Treasurer CA Mitesh Modi, leading industrialists, and representatives from the corporate sector. Sohail Savani, Chairman of the Labour Law Committee, conducted the proceedings of the session.
