Surat – The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is set to host its first-ever mega art and culture festival, “Sanskriti,” in Surat. The two-day event will take place on September 12 and 13, 2025, at Platinum Hall, SIECC, Sarsana, from 12 noon to 9 pm.

Gujarati film actress Sapna Vyas will grace the festival as the chief guest, while noted theatre personality Yazdi Karanjia will attend as the guest of honor. Chamber President Nikhil Madrasi said the initiative aims to provide a vibrant platform for young talent to showcase their creativity and cultural expression.

The festival will feature art exhibitions highlighting painting, handicrafts, and creative photography, along with competitions in garba and music. Live performances will include rangoli and couch painting demonstrations. A special panel discussion on art and culture will also bring together experts for engaging conversations.

The first day will begin with a short film workshop at 2 pm conducted by Dhruvin Jain, founder of a film academy, who will guide participants through the process of filmmaking. At 4 pm, traditional and contemporary garba competitions will take place, offering a colorful display of Gujarat’s cultural heritage.

On the second day, September 13, Dr. Dakshesh Thakar, Provost of Vanita Vishram Women’s University, will inaugurate the panel discussion at noon. Between 2 pm and 4 pm, speakers including Saurabh Desai, Vaishali Gohil, Twisha Shukla, and Dr. Jasmin Kaur will share their insights on the significance of art and culture. Later in the evening, a music competition will start at 5:30 pm, followed by a live performance by the popular group Vishva-The Band at 8 pm.

SGCCI expects the event to become a unique platform for local artists and handicraft experts, giving them exposure to new opportunities while celebrating Surat’s creative and cultural spirit.
