Jamnagar, August 27 – The Government Dental College and Hospital in Jamnagar has been recognized at the national level for its remarkable efforts in raising awareness about oral health and highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco use. The institution was honored by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with a prestigious award, marking the second consecutive year it has received this recognition.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed his delight at the achievement, stating that the honor was not only a matter of pride for the institution but for the entire state of Gujarat. The Chief Minister’s Office, in a post on social media platform X, emphasized that maintaining dental health is essential for overall well-being and praised the college for its continued initiatives to promote oral hygiene and educate the public about the dangers of tobacco consumption.

Earlier, the Jamnagar District Collector also congratulated the college and hospital, acknowledging the achievement as a moment of pride for the state. The Collector’s Office, in its social media message, commended the institution for winning a national award from the Union Health Ministry and bringing recognition to the region.

As per agency report, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare annually encourages dental colleges and hospitals across the country to conduct awareness programs on oral health and the harmful impact of tobacco use. Awards are given to institutions that organize the best initiatives under this campaign. By securing this award for the second year in a row, Jamnagar’s Government Dental College and Hospital has once again distinguished itself on the national stage, bringing pride to the entire Saurashtra region.
