Shri Shakti Dham Seva Samiti to Celebrate 34th Annual Festival with Grand Rani Sati Mahotsav in Surat
Surat – Shri Shakti Dham Seva Samiti is set to host the four-day Shri Rani Sati Mahotsav from August 20, 2025, to mark its 34th annual celebrations. The festivities will begin on Wednesday with a special event titled “Maha Shaktiyon ke Saath Satiyon ka Milan,” scheduled for 12:15 pm at YPD Convention Hall on Dumas Road.
On the opening day, grand mandaps will be decorated for 21 deities, including Lord Ganesha, Shri Rani Sati Dadiji, Shri Madal Sati Dadiji, Shri Nanu Sati Dadiji, Shri Dholi Sati Dadiji, Shri Chavo Viro Dadiji, and Shri Khemi Sati Dadiji. Devotees and yajmans will perform rituals and offer prayers to their respective deities.
Committee president Harendra Prasad Sarraf and vice-president Gopal Kothariwal announced that the Maha Mangal Path will be recited by Saurav Madhukar and Keshav Madhukar, while a Kolkata-based team will present a dance drama. Minister Murarilal Sureka and vice-president Ratanlal Daruka informed that artisans from Kolkata have been invited to design the sacred court of Rani Sati, with floral decorations brought in from Bengaluru and Kolkata.
According to treasurer Ajay Patodia and joint secretary Anup Jalan, the committee undertook several social service initiatives in 2024–25. These included supporting the education of underprivileged children, providing medicines to needy patients, distributing free helmets, organising tree plantation drives, food donations, temple infrastructure upgrades such as installing lifts, and running food distribution on Amavasya and Saturdays. The committee also expanded its homeopathic dispensary, which has been serving the community for 22 years.
Vice-presidents Vishwanath Pacheria and Subhash Tibrewal highlighted the committee’s year-round religious activities, including Navratri celebrations, Gangaur festival, Hanuman Jayanti Sundarkand, Singhara-Jhulan Utsav, Kanwar Yatra, Janmashtami, Bhadi Amavasya, Ganesh Utsav, Diwali Annakut, Dadiji’s Jayanti, Patotsav, Shyam Nishan Yatra, Phag Utsav, Holika Dahan, and Shivratri Rudrabhishek.
Committee members Suraj Jalan and Nandkishore Jalan outlined the upcoming festival schedule: Sundarkand Path at the temple premises on August 21, Charan Paduka Abhishek and devotional singing on August 22, and on August 23, morning Dhok-Jat, evening Mangal Path, and a devotional music night. Committee members Suresh Jalan and Girijashankar Jhunjhunwala appealed to devotees and followers of Sanatan Dharma to participate and benefit from the religious celebrations.
