Rajkot : Police Department Showcases Grand Weapons Exhibition at “Shauryanu Sindoor” Fair

Rajkot – The police department organised a grand weapons exhibition during the “Shauryanu Sindoor” public fair at the Racecourse ground, aimed at instilling a spirit of discipline, dedication, and security among citizens while also creating awareness about the modern weaponry used by the force.

The exhibition featured over 30 weapons, including the 19th-century British-era .303 Maxim machine gun, sniper rifles, light machine guns (LMGs), machine pistols, INSAS rifles, and SIG firearms. Other highlights included traditional kirpans, bullets of various calibres, speed guns, and specialised bomb disposal squad equipment, all of which drew keen interest from visitors. Around 25 police personnel manned the stalls, providing detailed demonstrations and information about each weapon’s features and operational use.

Alongside the weaponry display, the exhibition placed special emphasis on road safety awareness. Posters and pamphlets highlighted the importance of helmets and adherence to traffic regulations. Adding to the attraction were selfie points with “Helmet Campaign” and “Police Uniform” themes, which drew enthusiastic participation from children and young visitors.

As per agency report, the event not only familiarised the public with the functioning and equipment of the police force but also reinforced values of safety, responsibility, and civic discipline, making it a significant outreach initiative by the department.
