In a message on social media platform X, Modi wrote that throughout his long public life, Radhakrishnan had focused on community service and the empowerment of the underprivileged. He added that Radhakrishnan had worked extensively at the grassroots level in Tamil Nadu and earned respect through his commitment and wisdom.
As per agency report, nominations for the vice-presidential election can be filed until August 21, and voting, if required, will be held on September 9. The election has been necessitated by the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
