Universal Textile Market Emerges as a Leading Hub for Surat’s Garment Trade
Surat – Located in the prime Salabatpura area along Surat’s Ring Road, the Universal Textile Market has become one of the city’s major centres for the textile trade. Established around eight years ago, the market houses a total of 414 shops and is especially renowned for garments, fabric sarees, and heavy work items.

While the market’s overall management is handled by the builder, day-to-day operations are overseen by Kishor Modi and Raju Bhai. Speaking to Loktej, Kishor Modi, who runs “Sonal Prints” in the market, shared that his firm is a reputed name in the wholesale saree business. With a client base spread across India, particularly in Maharashtra, Modi focuses on offline trade and has built a strong presence in the industry.

Another prominent trader, Dilip Mishra, who operates under the name “Hitansh Fabric,” has been engaged in the wholesale trade of fancy fabrics and heavy work items at the market for the past eight years. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Mishra has expanded his business to key commercial hubs across Gujarat, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Rajasthan, and Amravati. He works through both online and offline channels, maintaining connections with customers directly as well as via agency networks.
To ensure safety for both traders and customers, CCTV cameras have been installed at all entrances and key locations within the market. Additionally, dedicated parking facilities for traders enhance convenience and security, making the shopping experience smoother.
As per agency report, Universal Textile Market has earned a reputation not only in Surat but across India as a trusted destination for garment and fabric traders. Its facilities, robust security measures, and extensive business network have helped it carve a distinct place in the country’s textile trade landscape.
