Rajkot: In a commendable gesture to support the differently-abled community, Rajkot’s Divyang Kalyan Trust has donated six wheelchairs to the district administration. The donation ceremony took place on Friday morning at the Rajkot District Collector's office, where Trust President Rajubhai Kakadia and other dignitaries handed over the wheelchairs to District Collector Dr. Om Prakash.

On the occasion, Dr. Om Prakash appreciated the trust's noble social initiative and its continued service to the welfare of differently-abled individuals. The trust also thanked the administration for implementing essential infrastructure like ramps, railings, and other facilities across various government offices to improve accessibility for the disabled.

The six donated wheelchairs will be installed at key administrative offices including Prant-1, Prant-2, Rural Prant Office, and the Taluka, East, and South Mamlatdar offices for use by differently-abled visitors.

Additional Collector A.K. Gautam, District Social Security Officer Santosh Rathod, and other officials were also present at the event. This initiative not only enhances convenience for disabled citizens but also promotes a message of inclusivity and social sensitivity in the community.
