SGCCI Launches SBC 3.0 – Textile Chapter to Strengthen Business Networking in Surat's Textile Sector
Surat, July 29 – The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) formally launched the SBC 3.0 – Textile Chapter on Tuesday at Seminar Hall-A in Sarsana, aiming to provide a unified platform for entrepreneurs in the textile industry. The event witnessed the presence of key industry figures, including Ashish Gujarati, President of Pandesara Weavers Co-op Society Ltd., Rasik Kotadia, President of Kim Pipodara Weavers Association, and Kailash Hakim, President of Surat Textile Traders Association, who were present as special guests.
SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi stated that this newly launched chapter will serve as a comprehensive resource for textile entrepreneurs, offering opportunities in business networking, professional guidance, industry insights, and training. The initiative is expected to empower industry players in areas such as technology adoption, marketing strategies, skill development, and exploration of new markets.
Ashok Jirawala, Vice President of SGCCI, emphasized the importance of strong networking in driving the growth of the textile industry. He noted that effective networking not only opens doors to new business opportunities but also fosters collaboration and rapid growth through information exchange.
As per agency report, the SBC (SGCCI Business Connect) is an initiative by the Chamber itself, and its latest edition, SBC 3.0 – Textile Chapter, aims to bring together all stakeholders in the textile trade. These include weavers, yarn merchants, processors, garment manufacturers, and distributors under one collaborative platform.
The launch event was attended by former SGCCI President Vijay Mewawala, Acting Honorary Secretary Bhavesh Tailor, Honorary Treasurer CA Mitesh Modi, and former President Himanshu Bodawala, along with several prominent textile entrepreneurs.
SGCCI Group Chairman Deepakkumar Sethwala shared insights into SBC’s operational model. SBC Advisor Tapan Jariwala conducted the proceedings of the inaugural event, while SBC President Chandrakant Prajapati introduced the objectives of the Textile Chapter. Advisor Chirag Desai addressed queries from attending entrepreneurs, and Snehben Jariwala concluded the program with a vote of thanks.
This initiative by SGCCI is being seen as a strategic step towards elevating Surat’s textile industry from a regional presence to a global platform.
