Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Congratulates 4-Year-Old Chess Prodigy Ananya Ayyar for Her Remarkable Performance at Bengaluru Open 2025

Vadodara: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has extended his heartfelt wishes and congratulations to four-year-old chess prodigy Ananya Ayyar of Vadodara for her commendable performance at the Bengaluru Open-2025 Chess Tournament. Praising her talent, confidence, and unwavering determination, the CM expressed hope for her bright future in the world of sports.

In his message, CM Patel noted that initiatives like Khel Mahakumbh and Chess Mahotsav, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have significantly increased children's interest and participation in sports. Ananya’s achievement in a mentally challenging game like chess at such a tender age, he said, is truly inspirational.

Ananya began playing chess at just three and a half years old. Her father, Dr. Anandbhai Ayyar, is himself an internationally recognized chess player, and it is a matter of pride to see his legacy carried forward by his young daughter. So far, Ananya has already participated in two national and one international tournament.

The Bengaluru Open 2025, held at Koramangala Indoor Stadium, saw participation from over 2,000 players representing 11 countries. Ananya captured the audience’s hearts not only with her sharp moves but also with her charming smile and fearless gameplay.

Apart from chess, Ananya also excels in singing, painting, and speaks multiple languages including English, Gujarati, Tamil, and Hindi. Just three feet tall, she plays her matches seated on two chairs to reach the board—but her determination and passion have already made her a name to watch in the chess world.
